Anti-Wrinkle Treatments

What do you use to treat fine lines and wrinkles?

Botulinum toxin- a protein. This is a prescription only medication (POM), therefore a consultation is required prior to treatment by myself and my nurse prescriber.

There is 3 types of Botulinum Toxin licensed to use in the UK with the brand names: Boucouture, Azzulure and Botox. At Nee’s Aesthetics we use Botox, made from the pioneers in creating the Medical Aesthetics Market: Allergan.

How does Botulinum toxin work?

Botulinum toxin is injected into the muscles that require the treatment (these are the muscles that are causing the concerning wrinkles).

It cuts of a receptor known as ‘snap-25’ which then blocks signals from the nerves to the muscles preventing them from contracting so much, thus causing the skin to soften and relax. This in turn reduces the appearance of wrinkles and lines.

The receptors that have been cut off then regenerate in 3-4 months.

Is it painful?

An exceptionally fine needle is used for anti-wrinkle treatments. Most people say that it is painless. Can cause minimal pain at injection point.

How long will my anti-wrinkle results last?

Results vary from person to person depending on metabolism and life style factors, however botulinum toxin is effective for roughly 3-4months. Lines that are present at rest will improve gradually if you keep up to date with regular treatments when necessary.

What is a ‘top up’?

2 weeks following treatment a follow-up review will be required. If further treatment is required or if there is any asymmetry, a top up dose will be administered free of charge.

If treatment results are as expected, then a top-up is not required.

Dermal Filler Treatments

What is dermal filler?

Dermal filler is injectable hyaluronic acid (HA) which is a type of temporary dermal filler.
The filler used at Nee’s Aesthetics is dissolvable.

What is hyaluronic acid?

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a substance that is naturally present in the human body.

How does it work?

Injectable HA is injected into areas that require treatment. It adds volume to the injected areas, as well as creating structure and adjusting framework. It can add definition and even out asymmetry. Filler attracts water so it can help rejuvenate and hydrate the skin therefore, reducing the appearance facial folds and fine lines.

How long will results last?

This varies from person to person depending on life-style factors, the products used, and areas treated.

Most treatment results last approximately 6-15 months.

Is it painful?

Dermal filler treatments can be uncomfortable and slightly painful. In areas where pain is perceived more (for example lips and nasolabial folds), numbing cream is used.

What products do you use?

At Nee’s Aesthetics we only use premium hyaluronic acid dermal filler which is FDA approved (thoroughly researched) and has the CE stamp which means it meets criteria for it to be safely used in Europe.

We use Juvederm, Teosyal & Restylane. If you have specific requests of filler that you would like us to use for your treatments, please inform us in advance so we can get this in stock.
